National Cancer Institute NCI) the Veterans Health Administration VHA) the Department Veterans Affairs VA) recruiting postdoctoral fellows the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program BD-STEP) increase capacity data-driven cancer research supporting healthcare-focused data science training. primary goal BD-STEP to help develop next generation researchers will capable using large clinical research data sets efficiently effectively advance cancer research. BD-STEP fellows each assigned work one four VA medical centers Palo Alto, CA; Houston, TX; Durham, NC; Boston, MA); those facilities, will work clinicians, clinician-scientists, interdisciplinary researchers address important patient-centered health challenges. While working these unique clinical research environments, BD-STEP fellows have valuable opportunities utilize extensive VA health data infrastructure. NCI VHA anticipate awarding to twelve 2-year BD-STEP fellowships full salary benefits. be eligible, applicant must meet following criteria: Hold Ph.D. engineering, computer science, physical science, relevant, related discipline; experience bioinformatics, modeling, and/or management large data sets; a strong background advanced mathematics statistics; proficiency at least programming language; Be U.S. citizen receive salary benefits.
