The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-level leadership, strategic planning, and detailed oversight and management of the extramural Division of Blood Diseases and Resources (DBDR) clinical trial focused portfolio in classical hematological blood diseases. The CMRO will be focused on ensuring the ethical and safe execution of DBDR-funded clinical research for clinical trials and large observational cohort clinical studies, coordinating risk management evaluations, and directing Data Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMBs), Observational Study Monitoring Boards, and Protocol Review Committees. The CMRO will contribute to the development of NHLBI-wide clinical research and will have leadership responsibility as a member of the NHLBI's clinical trials optimization and coordination team.
