ODSS implements strategies to enhance the data science workforce at NIH and expand the national research workforce, while promoting innovative collaborations between biomedical data science and other fields of study, including mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, and biology to create synergistic modes of data-driven discoveries. Increasing the capacity of experts in computation, data science, and related fields to move into the biomedical research space is an essential component of the NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science. ODSS is committed to engaging a broader community in the biomedical and clinical research fields.
