My main project is to develop meaningful metrics and privacy metrics to demonstrate benchmarks about where the Data and Specimen Hub (DASH) data repository stands and how it can improve. In addition, I am looking for ways or products to improve the de-identification process for researchers and privacy investigators. Lastly, I am helping with a project with Valerie Cotton, my manager Regina Bures, and Karen Haase on creating a simple fact sheet about the Honest Broker and the hashing methodology behind it.

Expanding knowledge on privacy.

Last summer I had the privilege to work on the commercial side of privacy, this fall I’m currently working on privacy at a federal level. I’m hoping to expand my knowledge on privacy, learn new data science skills, and understand the federal landscape more.

Contributing to something bigger than myself.

What excites me the most about working on my projects is that it will be used to advance or educate a topic just on step further. I love knowing that I am contributing to something bigger than myself.
