Creating Network Visualizations with VOSviewer

Event Description

This one-hour online training will provide information about how the VOSviewer tool can be used for bibliometric analysis. This training is part of the Bibliometrics Training Series and pairs well with Introduction to Bibliometrics, Bibliometric Data Sources, Bibliometrics Tools, Creating Citation Reports with InCites but can be attended independently without requirement to take any other training in the series.

By the end of this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Create a search strategy in Web of Science Core Collection for a set of publications
  • Export Web of Science Core Collection results to VOSviewer for scientific network analyses
  • Create co-authorship networks of individual authors and institutions
  • Create co-occurrence of author keywords in a specific set of publications

Attendees are not expected to have any prior knowledge of VOSviewer to be successful in this training. VOSviewer is an open-source software tool. If attendees would like to follow along with the demonstration, they need to request their IT department to install VOSviewer on their computer prior to the training.
