The project my mentor and I are collaborating on is a product solution to make it easier for division chiefs to work with the budget. Currently division chiefs spend a great deal of time on formatting data from budget reporting software into their own spreadsheets. Due to the time spent they aren't able to work on other initiatives in their division. We're hoping to solve this problem and potentially even more budget related problems during these ten weeks.

Gaining experience in abstract problem-solving.

I hope to gain experience in abstract problem-solving through avenues such as user and market research. I also hope to gain experience in organizing the feedback of multiple stakeholders to iterate on a product idea. Additionally, I'm excited to apply my design skills to potentially design an interface for the product solution we settle on.

Discovering hidden user needs.

Because my project is relatively flexible, I'm excited about defining the scope of my project and discovering hidden user needs. Additionally, I'm excited to learn more about the government and the opportunity areas within it!
